George Papadimitriou
Head of East Europe & North Africa, Enel Green Power
George Papadimitriou joined the Enel Group in 2008 and is currently the Head of East Europe & North Africa in Enel Green Power (EGP).
In 2009 he took over as Head of Regulatory Affairs for Europe Area based in Rome and in 2012 he was appointed Country Manager of EGP France, based in Lyon, until December 2014 and the company’s successful divestment. In 2015 he became Head of EGP Business Development, Europe and subsequently he undertook the position of the Head of EGP Business Development, Latin America, which he held until April 2016.
His prior professional career has evolved exclusively within the energy sector at international level, in a series of countries and companies such as ScottishPower, Fortum, Nuon, Gazprom, and ContourGlobal based in various countries (UK, Netherlands, Greece, Italy, France), in which he assumed a variety of assignments, ranging from risk management, plant commercial management, business development and electricity trading.
George studied Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens, received a B.A. in Economics from the American College of Greece as well as an MSc in Operational Research from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
He is married and has two children.
